Swedish Massage was developed by Peter Henrik Ling (1776-1839), a Swedish physician and athlete who combined Chinese medical massage techniques with sports medicine to create a technique for decreasing muscle soreness, increasing flexibility and promoting general health.
Strokes used in Swedish Massage include long and gliding movements generally applied with an oil or cream as a lubricant, kneading, vibration, tapping and friction.
The massage session will take between 60 and 75 minutes. You will be given a chance alone to undress down to your underwear and lie face down on the massage table which is usually very comfortable, and cover yourself with the towels provided.
A full body massage costs £50 for 60 minutes or £65 for 75 minutes (to include head/face and feet).
I relocated from West Suffolk in 2020 and am now based near Fritton on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, close to Lowestoft, Somerleyton and Gorleston on Sea, with easy access from Gt Yarmouth, Beccles and Norwich.
My spacious and comfortable treatment room is in a purpose-built extension of my country cottage in a parkland setting, with duck-ponds behind and just a short stroll from the Caldecott Hall golf course and Barn Works Fitness Spa. There is plenty of free parking available.
I also run sessions two days a week and regular Usui Reiki Training courses with fellow therapist and Healer, Rob Tarry, in the quaint rural village of Congham, near King’s Lynn, with Sandringham and the beautiful North Norfolk coast close by.
Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available on site, if you want to enjoy a treatment as part of a longer break. www.highcottsbanb.co.uk
